If I was going to lose 10 pounds in the next month, here’s how I would start my day:

1️⃣ Prep the Night Before

Get everything ready the night before—make your lunch, lay out your gym kit, put a glass of water by your bed, and write out tomorrow’s to-do list. Prepping ahead makes your mornings smoother and helps you stick to your goals.

2️⃣ Avoid Your Phone in the Morning

When you first wake up, avoid diving straight into your phone. Instead of letting 100 other people’s problems steal your energy, spend those first 5-10 minutes focusing on yourself and your goals.

3️⃣ Set Your Nervous System for Success

Before jumping out of bed, take 5 deep belly breaths to center yourself and start the day in a calm state. Reducing stress early in the day can help you make better decisions later on.

4️⃣ Hydrate First Thing

When you wake up, you’re at your most dehydrated. Drink at least 16 oz of water before doing anything else. Hydration helps your metabolism and wakes up your body.

5️⃣ Move Your Body

Whether it’s a workout, a walk, a run, or some stretching, get your body moving for 20-30 minutes. Physical activity boosts endorphins and sets you up for a clear head and more energy throughout the day.

6️⃣ Get Some Vitamin D

Spending 15-30 minutes outside in the morning sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, meaning your body functions will be more on schedule, and you’ll sleep better at night.
